Workshop Reflection

During today’s workshop regarding the first draft of our open letters, it was really useful being able to verbally communicate with my peers on how to go about writing these letters. It was surprising to receive thoughts and suggestions I would have never come up with on my own and I am glad we were able to take the time to hear other’s opinions because at times I get so caught up in my own way of thinking that it’s hard to think there could be any other way, let alone a better way. After some discussion, I look forward to moving along with the next draft of my letter taking the varying perspectives of my peers into consideration.

  1. Alice, I’m not sure what advice your peers offered as your takeaway does not detail any specifics. But apparently the workshop opened your mind to some different approaches and possibilities on your topic.

I think your idea of addressing your former self (a self that was mired in a challenging situation that you transcended) could be very dynamic. Indirectly such an address does reach out to anyone going through a smilier situation.

In regard to the situation: here is where we’ll need some detail that allows us to connect with you in the 3-D real world where this situation occurred. Who were you then? Where were you? Who are you now? Where are you?

Obviously, a situation like the one you were “once upon a time” involved with asks us to build a bridge as we stand on it so that we can get to the other side. How did you do it?
